And sheeeeee's BACK!

So I decided that I'm going to be better at this blogging business. We'll see how THAT goes!

Anywho. This is what's up. I'm still working at Lauren's Institute For Education. And despite what I 'get' to do everyday, I still LOVE it :) So I work with kids with developmental disabilities. Sounds fancy doesn't it? Don't feel dumb if you don't know what that means. But this is basically how my day goes :

8:00 AM- Arrive at said job.

8:15 AM- The kids start coming to class.

*I forget how much I said about my job in my last post (November) So sorry if I repeat anything. But in the mornings, I work in the preschool. Kids ages: 6-9 maybe 10. Most of them are 7 and 8. And most of them are autistic. Okay now here's where that gets confusing. See, all the kids are quite different. And there's TWELVE of them. And there's 3 of us (teachers/habilitators) usually, and then we have a part-timer there on Fridays. So taking all of this into account, its *quite* difficult to manage all of them. See, the point of our job is to get them into a public school. Before doing so, we have to get rid of their behaviors. I would get into logistics, but that would take forever. So its hard. To say the least. And yet, seeing them progress day after day is pretty rewarding.

Sound draining? It is. But I love it so.

OKAY. Enough with the boring stuff. Sorry. Wanna hear something crazy? I figured if I spent an average of 7 dollars on every movie I own, I've spent about 850 bones on movies. Over a time frame of 4 years. Yes, you read that correctly.

EIGHT HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS.

Pathetic? Some might say so. Oh wait. I didn't include my 3 seasons of Gilmore Girls and all four seasons of The Office. So...oh my gosh. Haha ummm...that just put me over a thousand dollars. Oh my gosh don't tell my parents.

Well I think that's probably just about enough for today. I'll post some recents pics soon.

one step at a time

okay. i think i've finally figured this blog thing out. hopefully. i don't have much time for a super long post, but i can give a quick update on life.

i work at lauren's institute for education, or l.i.f.e. its basically a center for kids with special needs. i work in the advanced learners preschool, and in the afternoon kinder prep. i absolutely love it there! the kids are great, i love all my co-workers...its just an all around amazing place! i'm so lucky and grateful for the opportunity i have to be there. if life goes according to plan, which changes often, (and when does life ever go according to plan??) i'll someday get a degree in music therapy. i'd love to stay at l.i.f.e., it really is such a great place. i'm not in school this semester, just working full-time. however, i'm taking a few classes next semester (while still working full-time) and actually can't wait to be constantly learning! they say you don't realize what you got til its gone. i believe it!

i've recently been thinking alot about major decisions. my mom keeps telling me i'll either be married in a year or leaving on a mission. weird. there are some factors that don't necessarily make them only MY decision, so that's been a stressful part of my thinking. but i suppose i just have to take life one step at a time and figure it all out when the chips fall.

thanksgiving was so great. i love my family so much. it was just our immediate family. i am sad that we didn't get to see extended family, but it was nice at the same time because it was so chill and we just had our own schedule. and then, of course, we shopped on friday. for about 6 hours. madness! but i loved it. i just love shopping whether or not i have money. i don't know where it came from, because a couple years ago i didn't really like it that much...random.

welp, life is good! :)
